The Farmer and the Stork
The Ass and his Driver
"Very well," said his master, "go your way, you willful beast, and see where it leads you."
With that he let go, and the foolish Ass tumbled head over heels down the mountain side.
MORAL: They who will not listen to reason but stubbornly go their own way against the friendly advice of those who are wiser than they, are on the road to misfortune.
REFLECTION:
I sometimes not listen to those advice which are good to me rather I go on my way. Through this way that I'm not listening sometimes, sometimes I get hurt, I was put on danger. Like before, my mom always reminds me of the things that I should not do but it's me who disobeyed so the result I hurt or I cried. Now, I always listen to my parents because they had a good intensions.
The Young Crab and his Mother

"Why in the world do you walk sideways like that?" said a Mother Crab to her son. "You should always walk straight forward with your toes turned out."
"Show me how to walk, mother dear," answered the little Crab obediently, "I want to learn."
So the old Crab tried and tried to walk straight forward. But she could walk sideways only, like her son. And when she wanted to turn her toes out she tripped and fell on her nose.
MORAL: Do not tell others how to act unless you can set a good example.
REFLECTION:
Sometimes we are like mother crab who always tell others to act but we do not set a good example yet. Just like me, I always correct my cousin to change his attitude, to act like a professional, to act not like an immature but now I'm trying to do this first before I'll correct my cousin's wrong deed because I knew now to be a good example.
Belling the Cat
The Mice once called a meeting to decide on a plan to free themselves of their enemy, the Cat. At least they wished to find some way of knowing when she was coming, so they might have time to run away. Indeed, something had to be done, for they lived in such constant fear of her claws that they hardly dared stir from their dens by night or day.
Many plans were discussed, but none of them was thought good enough. At last a very young Mouse got up and said:
"I have a plan that seems very simple, but I know it will be successful. All we have to do is to hang a bell about the Cat's neck. When we hear the bell ringing we will know immediately that our enemy is coming."
All the Mice were much surprised that they had not thought of such a plan before. But in the midst of the rejoicing over their good fortune, an old Mouse arose and said:
"I will say that the plan of the young Mouse is very good. But let me ask one question: Who will bell the Cat?"
MORAL: It is one thing to say that something should be done, but quite a different matter to do it.
REFLECTION:
Planning is a good way to a better step but sometimes plans can be failed especially if there where times that deeds is hard to applied on it. On me, I always took a plan but it seems hard to do so, for the result my some plan failed. One time, honestly, sometimes I had an evil plan but it seems it's quite difficult to say that I was success to my plan because just like the moral of the story, It is one thing to say that something should be done, but quite different matter to do it.
The Crow and the Pitcher
In a spell of dry weather, when the Birds could find very little to drink, a thirsty Crow found a pitcher with a little water in it. But the pitcher was high and had a narrow neck, and no matter how he tried, the Crow could not reach the water. The poor thing felt as if he must die of thirst.
Then an idea came to him. Picking up some small pebbles, he dropped them into the pitcher one by one. With each pebble the water rose a little higher until at last it was near enough so he could drink.
MORAL: In a pinch a good use of our wits may help us out.
REFLECTION:
Like my reflection on the story of THE FOX AND THE GRAPES, I stated when I got thirst. Like the crow I also use my determination, but I give up. This story can help us to inspire to be creative and to use our brain in such useful ways of solving our needs. Determination, is also part of being creative or what we called ''mapamaraan''

The Rose and the Butterfly

A Butterfly once fell in love with a beautiful Rose. The Rose was not indifferent, for the Butterfly's wings were powdered in a charming pattern of gold and silver. And so, when he fluttered near and told how he loved her, she blushed rosily and said yes. After much pretty love-making and many whispered vows of constancy, the Butterfly took a tender leave of his sweetheart.
But alas! It was a long time before he came back to her.
"Is this your constancy?" she exclaimed tearfully. "It is ages since you went away, and all the time, you have been carrying on with all sorts of flowers. I saw you kiss Miss Geranium, and you fluttered around Miss Mignonette until Honey Bee chased you away. I wish he had stung you!"
"Constancy!" laughed the Butterfly. "I had no sooner left you than I saw Zephyr kissing you. You carried on scandalously with Mr. Bumble Bee and you made eyes at every single Bug you could see. You can't expect any constancy from me!"
MORAL: Do not expect constancy in others if you have none yourself.
REFLECTION:
I always expect constancy in others but I then realize that it should me first to expect constancy to myself . There is a thing that I was embarrassed because of this facts, and I want this on myself only. But after that, I now carefully did the moral of this story.
The Lion's Share
One day, a lion, a fox, a jackal, and a wolf went hunting together. All day long they tried hard, but could not find anything satisfactory. It was only in the late afternoon that they could catch a deer. The four beasts surrounded the poor animal and killed it as fast as they could. Then they decided to share their food.
The lion was the lord of the jungle and superior to all in strength. Hence, the other creatures agreed when he proposed to share the food for all.
Placing one of its paws upon the dead animal, the lion said,
"You see, as a member of the hunting party, it is my right to receive one of these portions."
The others nodded in agreement.
"But then, I am also the King of Beasts. So I must receive a little bit more". he declared.
The others looked uneasily at each other.
"And besides, I was leading the hunt. So I deserve a little more extra". he proclaimed.
The others mumbled something, but it could not be heard.
"As for the fourth share, if you wish to argue with me about its ownership, let's begin, and we will see who will get it."
"Humph," the others grumbled. They walked away with their heads down. They knew it was pointless to argue about their shares.
MORAL: You may share the labors of the great, but you can not share the spoil.
REFLECTION:
Sharing is the best way of friendship. You must share what you have as what your group had for you, it may be food, money, time or words. Just what my friends had for me before, we share and help to each other though the time is for us to spend to our own family. Now, I always want to share what I have in such proper way and to inspire others through my deeds.
The Tortoise and the Hare
The tortoise said quietly, "I accept your challenge."
"That is a good joke," said the hare. "I could dance around you all the way."
So a course was fixed and a start was made. The hare darted almost out of sight at once, but soon stopped and, to show his contempt for the tortoise, lay down to have a nap. The tortoise plodded on and plodded on, and when the hare awoke from his nap, he saw the tortoise nearing the finish line, and he could not catch up in time to save the race.
Plodding wins the race.
MORAL: Sometimes bigger and faster can be a winner but sometimes smaller and slower too
REFLECTION:
In this story, hare believe in his skills that he was the fastest and boast it while tortoise had a chance to win fair. I also encounter this kind of situation, I wrote fast but I stop writing because I talk and after this we had to pass our notebook but since I don't finished it early, I and my other classmates loss the point. I learn to be focus on what you are doing and not be so over confident.
The Fox and The Grapes
Long long ago there lived a fox who loved to eat. He lived close to a vineyard and he used to stare at the lovely grapes that hung there.
"How juice they look. Oh I am sure these are stuff that melts in the mouth when you have them. If only I could reach them".
One sunny day, the fox woke up and saw the grapes glistening by the sunlight. The vineyard looked heavenly and the grapes looked so luscious that the famished fox could no longer control itself. He jumped to reach them but fell down.
He jumped again. No, they were much higher.
He jumped even more. But they were still out of reach.
He jumped and stretched and hopped but to no avail. Those yummy grapes hung higher than the fox could reach. No matter how hard he tried, the fox could not reach the grapes. He panted and began to sweat out of exhaustion.
Giving up finally, he looked up in contempt and said as he walked away, "Those grapes surely must be sour. I wouldn't eat them even if they were served to me on a golden dish."
MORAL: It's easy to despise what you cannot have.
REFLECTION:
From the story, the fox was really determined to get the grapes but in the end he quit because even he is trying his best to reach for his food, nothing happened. As what I had experienced before, I was thirsty and trying to had a drink but I can't open the bottle even I'm trying to twist it's cup with all my strength until I began to sweat out and my thirst worse so, I decided to ask some help with a person who can able to open that bottle. I think giving up is a decision of facing a new trials.
The Ant and the Grasshopper
On one fine summer's day in a field a Grasshopper was hopping about in a musical mood. An ant passed by bearing along with great toil an ear of corn he was taking to the nest.
The grasshopper invited the ant to sit for a chat with him. But the ant refused saying that "I’m storing up food for winter". " Why don’t you do the same?" asked the ant to the grasshopper.
Finally, when winter came, the Grasshopper found itself dying of hunger, while it saw the ants distributing corn and grain from their storage.
Then the Grasshopper understood that…
It is best to prepare for the days of necessity.
MORAL: As what Grasshoper understood, It is best to prepare for the days of necessity
REFLECTION:
In this story, I remember those times that I always go in a rush because I was not prepared. There comes a time that I was irritable to think that I’m running out of time. I learn that we should have to prepare in all times especially for the days of necessity.
